Week12

This week is the last week with Miss Nisha. We had to submit our wed site, besides that Miss Nisha also helps us to review all the lectures that we have learnt before. In the other hand, we also had to learnt a new topic. This was about database. "Database is a collection of interrelated data stored together controlled redundancy to serve one or more applications in an optimal way". There are 4 types of database models are network model, relational model, hierarchical and object-relational model.Then, we have also known about DBMS which is software used in adding, updating, managing, accessing and analysing data in a database. For examples Microsoft Access, oracle, MySQL etc. SQL is a standardized query language for requesting information for a database. We can easily understand this from the image below-:

To fortify our knowledge about database, our lecturer has given us an exercise to do. Those questions related with our topic. However, i have made many mistakes. 

MY AIU LIFE

My life has changed a lot after I was given a scholarship from Albukhary International University. Firstly, I have experienced a new life in Malaysia without family. Secondly, I have given a better education in an international university. I feel really grateful this AIU.

As we know, AIU is a humaniversity. Everything here is free for students. We have been given many good things such as allowance, free meal, free photocopy, print, and many good technologies in classroom etc…

I am actually quiet person. Therefore, my parents were worried very much when I came here. They were afraid that I would feel very lonely. However, I have really changed. I have become more active and cheerful since I lived in AIU. I have got many friends that come from many other countries. I became more mature to face with everything in my own life. Actually, I was very shy before. I used to like neither to work in group nor join any social activity. But, everything now has changed. I can even feel very confident or volunteer to join any activity. Let’s me tell you some activity that I have participated. First one is that I have become an actor in Town Hall meeting when I studied IEP.

 It was about a very funny story between a young girl and her brother. She threw down the garbage on her brother’s head. That was a casual accident. This story warns everyone against unaware deed with garbage. And this video has shown among a lot of my EIP friends. Thus, I was very proud of that.

Secondly, I want to share with you a recent event that I have joined. That was Fusion Night. I have become a model for fashion walk. My country mate and I have performed at Convocation Hall. I have been enjoyed a very wonderful Fusion Night with many other students.

From those activities, I have been really more mature than before. I became braver and friendlier with everyone. AIU’s life has changed me a lot. And I just wish my Allah will bring the most wonderful magic to protect AIU and all the students here. 

Week11

This week, i had only one tutorial class. However, this tutorial class was very important because our lecturer have given us an exercise to do. Specially, they are going to have in our final exam. There were many questions that related with our previous lectures. That was about data, bit, computer, IM, IS, Web site etc.... I had to recall all knowledge to do that exercise, but i made many mistakes. From this, i realized that i was not really study hard; I did not review what I have already learnt before. Perhaps, i was too subjective. Thus, i am going to study all the previous lessons and spend time to memorize fluently. Firstly, it will improve my knowledge well. Besides that, it will also help me to do the final exam better. Probably, there are not only multiple choice questions, but also there are the other kinds such as answers questions, essay or writing words on the blank. So, i must memorize some important concepts. My Allah will protect me to do the final exam well. 

week10

This week, we all have done our team projects. Then, we are going to do another team project to submit on week12. It is about web applications. That is why we have moved to study about web applications this week. Firstly, we have leant about the definition of web page, wed site and web application “An application is a piece of software that may run in many different environments such as: desktops, laptops, and tablet computers; A wed application is an application that is accessed over a network such as the internet or an intranet”. After that we have known about the basic characteristics and components of WED 1.0, 2.0.   Wed 1.0 is traditional wed client server interaction model. Wed 2.0 is the term given to describe a second generation of the World Wide Web that is focused on the ability for people to collaborate and share information online. However, Wed 2.0 is the popular term for advances Internet Technology and applications including blogs, wikis, Really simple Syndication (RSS) and social bookmarking; is a perceived transition of the wed to wed applications; is the next generation of technology solutions where interactive content is the norm; is about the maturity of the wed and businesses that are thriving online.

We also have learnt about Mashup, HTML and also ULR. There are many concepts that make me so confuse.  However, I must learn and understand it for the next assignment. These lectures are really necessary and useful. They provide information for us to develop simple wed applications in our assignment. Therefore, we must study and understand the concepts seriously. 

Week9

This week was the last time for us to prepare our project. Therefore, I felt very stress. I tried to complete on Tuesday night even I had so much other assignments. Because I had to submit it to my group mate on Wednesday. However, the internet connection was too slow and I could not work with it. I decided going to student center. I did the project until 11 pm and I thought it was completed. On the next day, I submitted it to my group mate. Then, we sent it to our lecturer to check it. Unfortunately, our project was not as good as our lecturer require. At that time, I really felt bad. I had only copied and pasted, I was not serious to do my work. Finally, we had a last discussion. All of us promised that we would do the project better and better. Therefore, I immediately stared to do. I tried to use my own work and just write what I have understood without copying. I worked with a group mate because her point and mine were similar and related. Fortunately, I had IT class on Thursday afternoon. Thus, I could ask my lecturer to recheck it. She said she would accept it. At that moment, I really wanted to cry. I wanted to cry because I was very happy. This might be the first time that I really know to treasure my fruit that I could get with endeavor. 

Week 8

This week, we continued the topic about Information system. However, we have known more types of IS. There were MIS (Management processing system), DSS(Decisiom support system),ESS( Excutive support system), ES(Expert support system) etc. We have learnt about the functions, feature of each one. In my opinion, i think i have expanded more knowledge.
From this, i know that most business schools (or colleges of business administration within universities) have an MIS department, alongside departments of accounting, finance, management, marketing, and sometimes others, and grant degrees in MIS. There is an example below :

For most businesses, there are a variety of requirements for information. Senior managers need information to help with their business planning. Middle management need more detailed information to help them monitor and control business activities. Employees with operational roles need information to help them carry out their duties.As a result, businesses tend to have several "information systems" operating at the same time:

However, the difficulty that we have to distinguish between them. Therefore, i have tried to find information from the internet to get understand and know clearly. This is the result that i have found that can help us easy to understand and compare:
